The Melvins Detail Split 12-inches with Fucked Up and Mudhoney

Last year, sludgey noise-rock greats the Melvins laid out plans to release a series of split 12-inch singles that would pair some live tracks off their Sugar Daddy Live with material from friends like OFF!, Negative Approach, the Butthole Surfers, the defunct U-Men and more. The next two to arrive in the series will feature Mudhoney and Fucked Up, respectively.

While an official release date wasn't given, the Melvins posted a picture of both of the spattered clear vinyl releases (see above), which arrive through the Amphetamine Reptile imprint, with the caption "Hopefully out next week!"

The photo jumbles the song order of Sugar Daddy Live, but if you peep the record labels, you'll see that the Melvins live take on "Tipping the Lion" will find its flip filled out with a handful of Mudhoney live tracks, though it's unclear when these were recorded. They also apparently ran out of room on the label, judging by that truncated titled for "Judgment, Rage, Retribution and Thyme."

The Melvins/Fucked Up split, meanwhile, hosts Sugar Daddy Live's "Rat Faced Granny" on the A-side, with Fucked Up's "21st Century Cling-Ons" on the flip.

While it was previously reported that Redd Kross would be a part of this series, the Melvins and the band opted to release an unrelated split 12-inch on New Year's.
