Compensating for an absent drummer using tracks on an iPod in the front pocket of her jeans, Marnie Stern nearly had to scramble to find an extra guitar too. Thankfully, her own axe was couriered to her at the last minute. An astonishing guitar virtuoso, Stern provided enough thrills as a solo act by quickly and deftly manoeuvring her fret board. She offered a searing set as unique as her recordings with high-pitched vocals and brainy songs that showed off her immense talent and ear for a good hook. It was enthralling evidence that revealed one of the most diligent young pupils of all the rock guitar gods is a blonde indie rock princess.
