Marked Men

Ghosts

Do you like the Buzzcocks? You probably do. And that means you'll probably find something to love about the Marked Men, four dudes from Texas who, like you, enjoy a solidly written power pop song. Like peers the Briefs and the Tranzmitors, the Marked Men are clearly enamoured with late '70s punk rock but lend their distinct spin to this surprisingly eclectic collection of 15 songs. The subtle vocal distortion that lends an aggressive edge to "Ditch" drives what is, at its core, a simple, catchy pop song, while the title track blasts out of the gate with a surprisingly jerky, thrashy riff. This is modern day power pop at its best, fast and fun, with a knowing glance towards the past balancing a conscious sonic step forward.
