Rick Ross's Maybach Music Group hit hard this week via the release of the rapper's long-awaited God Forgives, I Don't LP, but that's not the only Bawse-related material to drop this week. The MMG head and protégé Meek Mill have teamed up to drop verses on R&B diva Mariah Carey's new single "Triumphant (Get 'Em)."
The single, which will pop up on Carey's upcoming, as-yet-untitled 14th full-length, will be available on iTunes August 7, but you can stream it now down below.
Despite some deep bass drops and that MMG-patented ascending synth screech, Carey still makes the smoothed-out track her own via those famous upper register vocal squeals. The chorus, meanwhile, has the vocalist dropping self-motivational-style nuggets of wisdom like "keep on living" and "reach for the stars" to inspire us to dream big.
"I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it," she tweeted about the single a few weeks back. "When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics #WIN."
Meek Mill's verse finds the young turk talking about climbing his way to the top of the heap, while Rozay grunts his way through some lines about graduating from poverty to being strapped with grands wrapped in rubber bands.
A release date has yet been set for Carey's next LP.
