Madchild

'Dope Sick' (album stream)

This summer, we learned that Swollen Members' Madchild was ready to deliver a solo LP titled Dope Sick, which partly chronicles some serious drug dependency issues the rapper has dealt with over the years. The now sobered-up spitter won't officially drop the record until Tuesday (August 28) via Battle Axe/Suburban Noize, but you can check out the Vancouver rhymer's new set in full via the stream below.

As previously noted in a press release, the 16-track LP was written as the Canadian MC was battling an addiction to oxycontin "had spiraled out of control and destroyed everything the successful emcee had worked so hard to build with his platinum-selling hip-hop group Swollen Members." The drug-jag found the rapper losing over $3 million in assets, but the troubling time also allowed him to rediscover his voice.

Down below, you can listen to Madchild spitting atop majestic brassiness of "Monster," the especially X-rated and self-depricating "Dickhead," and the previously teased "Out of My Head." The album also features guest verses from Madchild's Swollen buddy Prevail, as well as Evidence, DJ Revolution, Rakaa Iriscience and Phil the Agony, among others.

As previously reported, Madchild is about to embark on a Canadian tour with Tech N9ne. You can see all those dates here.
