Royal Canoe's Matt Schellenberg brought together a host of Manitoban collaborators to create the soundtrack for Tyson Caron's Lovesick. Ahead of the soundtrack's official arrival, Exclaim! is giving you a chance to hear the entire thing.
Asked by director Caron to write songs for the film as opposed to score, Schellenberg's soundtrack features 13 original songs and features contributors that include John K. Samson (the Weakerthans), Alexa Dirks (Begonia), SMRT and Bobby Desjarlais (Attica Riots). The songs themselves range from Elvis-inspired rhythm and blues, to modern rap production, to even samba music.
"I'm not trying to make it sound like me — I'm trying to make it sound like a variety of artists, and I hope that there's still some continuity there, but I hope that the diversity is an interesting part of it," Schellenberg said in a statement.

The film will be screening in Winnipeg from January 27 through February 5, with more details available here.
