Loraine James has detailed her fourth studio album. The English producer will share Gentle Confrontation on September 22 via Hyperdub.

Gentle Confrontation follows a year that saw James release a pair of albums in Julius Eastman homage Building Something Beautiful for Me and her self-titled debut as Whatever the Weather. The 16-song album is said to explore relationships, understanding and "giving back a little grace and care."

"2003" is the first song to arrive from the album, and it comes accompanied by a video from IVOR Alice. In it, James lyrically reflects on her father's passing ("When I was seven my dad went to Heaven, possibly"), expressing in the chorus, "It hurt me, uncertainty."

James's latest features work with American experimentalist KeiyaA, South Carolina-based polymath Contour, returning Canadian collaborator Eden Samara and more. You can find its complete tracklist below.
