Listen to Lex Leosis' New EP 'Terracotta'

She's also shared a freeriding video for "That Feel"

Queer hip-hop artist, TikTok rap-battle champion and former Sorority member Lex Leosis releases her new EP Terracotta today. To up the ante, she's also carving a summery video for celebratory track "That Feel."

Terracotta is the follow-up to the Toronto-based artist's 2020 LP, Mythologies. The collection was made in collaboration with executive producer Rainer Blanchaer (Drake, the Weeknd, French Montana). He and Leosis became pandemic pals and made the EP in her bedroom studio, releasing previous singles "Won't Wait" and "Wanted" ahead of the full project.

Leosis said in a statement:

In the Terracotta pots process, clay starts by being refined and molded. Through fire, time and attention to detail, the terracotta pot is complete. I wrote this project through the pandemic. I was coming off releasing Mythologies and I was sad that I had to cancel a lot of my roll-out plans; No interviews, shows/tours or celebrations. I put my whole heart into that project and to see that I couldn't continue my rollout because of the pandemic was a big blow. Instead of letting it defeat me, I decided that it would make me stronger and that I would use this time to rebuild.

Leosis' dynamism behind the mic and a breezy West Coast soundscape come together in "That Feel." Filmed in both Toronto and L.A., the video finds her performing amidst a crowd of longboarders in the sunshine and channels the triumphant energy we're all hoping to embrace this two-shot summer.
