Lido Pimienta has returned with her first new music since 2016's La Papessa. Titled "No Pude," her latest can be heard alongside a Fitto Segura-directed music video below.

"No pude means: I could not. In the context of the song it means something to the effect of, 'I am tired of trying,'" Pimienta explained in a statement.

"The words speak directly to the sense of dread and constant anxiety my home country gives me. 'No Pude' sums up the love / hate relationship I have with Colombia. I hold Colombia close to my heart and my soul, but that loves turns into rage and shame as fast as a match takes to burn."

The single's arrival comes in conjunction with the launch of Señorita Colombia, a performance and exhibition by Pimienta, Orly Anan and Liliana Saumet, set to run December 2 through 14 at Toronto's Xpace Cultural Centre. More details are available here.

"No Pude" marks Pimienta's first release through Anti- Records, to which she signed last year. La Papessa won the Polaris Music Prize in 2017.

Pimienta's forthcoming follow-up to La Papessa is titled Miss Colombia, and she would like to launch it at the happiest place on earth.
