Noel Gallagher is about to embark on a string of European dates opening for U2's The Joshua Tree anniversary tour, but his little brother Liam doesn't think that's much of a feat.
The younger Gallagher has gone to extreme lengths to prove just how unimpressed he is, claiming that he would rather "eat my own shit" than listen to his brother's High Flying Birds play with U2.
He didn't stop there, though, throwing in a colourful (or, indeed, quite the opposite) description of the band as "beige fucks," before signing off with his signature "as you were." That was followed up with a rather succinct, "Toff rock."
Of course, we're assuming Liam's Twitter vitriol was pointed at his favourite potato-like target Noel, though it wouldn't be entirely surprising if he was also taking aim at Bono and co. based on his previous remarks about the tour arrangement. Perhaps he's killing two high flying birds with one stone, as it were.
UPDATE (7/4, 2:30 p.m.): Liam's back at it on Twitter. We have no idea what he's saying, but based on mentions of Bingo, Bongo and the Edge, we're guessing it has something to do with U2.
Liam's debut solo album As You Were is due out on October 6 via Warner Bros. Records.
