U2 Plot 'The Joshua Tree' 30th Anniversary Tour, Play Toronto and Vancouver

In 1987, U2 released their fifth album The Joshua Tree — a record marked for its socially and politically conscious lyricism. To celebrate the album's 30th anniversary, the band have announced a run of stadium dates through North American and Europe.

The band will play 25 dates in stadiums around the globe from May to August, playing The Joshua Tree in its entirety. An early highlight of the trek is a headlining slot at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, with a press release pointing out that the date is the band's first-ever headlining appearance at a U.S. festival.

Two Canadian shows are part of the tour itinerary. The band will start their trek at Vancouver's BC Place on May 12 before finding their way to Toronto to play the Rogers Centre on June 23.

Support for all dates will come from a number of guests, including Mumford & Sons, the Lumineers, OneRepublic and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Tickets for North American dates will go on sale January 17 at 10 a.m. local time, while those for European dates will go on sale January 16. A press release also reveals that a U2 Subscriber Exclusive pre-sale will run from January 11 at 9 a.m. through January 13 at 5 p.m.

The band have also recently given fans a shot to win a "front row, VIP experience," which you can learn more about here. Complete tour and ticket information can be found through the band's website or Live Nation. Find the complete itinerary below.
