Since IRL concerts still aren't a reality in Canada right now, Newfoundland's Lawnya Vawnya has announced a 2021 virtual event. It's called "Cyber Spring," and it will feature three days of free online performances, artist interviews, panel discussions and films.

The event will run from May 27 to 29, and it will feature the likes of Haviah Mighty, Cindy Lee, the Garrys, Salem Creeps, King Sway, Ariel Sharratt, Desperta and more.

Beyond all the performances, there will be an online film screening on May 27 in partnership with the St. John's International Women's Film Festival of Fanny: The Right to Rock, which will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Bobbi Jo Hart and moderated by Jenina MacGillivray.

There's also a panel discussion happening called "Cyber Shows and Remote Collaboration," as well as various artist interviews hosted by Renee Sharpe and \garbagefile.

All Lawnya Vawnya's "Cyber Spring" events are online except for an open jam on May 29 at the Eastern Edge Studio space in St. John's as part of Drone Day.

You can learn more at the festival website.

Lawnya Vawnya's main festival event is still penciled in for August 25 to 28.
