La Sera frontwoman Katy Goodman has been crazy busy this year. After issuing the band's Music for Listening To Music To full-length in March, and prepping punk covers with Greta Morgan for this summer's Take It, It's Yours side venture, she's returned to deliver another La Sera collection. The band's forthcoming digital EP is called Queens, and they're promoting it with a stream of the title cut.
Like pieces of Music for Listening To Music To, the song finds guitarist Todd Wisenbaker slathering quick-fingered, effects-heavy licks and runs above a driving rhythm. He and Goodman pass the mic back and forth, the former reporting on a typical day of spilling coffee all over himself. Goodman's chorus takes a different strokes for different folks angle ("Some women like kings, and some men like queens").
