Klaxons have won the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize at the official gala held in London's Grosvenor House Hotel tonight (September 4).
Talking to Radio One DJ Colin Murray online, Jamie Reynolds from the band said, "The most amazing moment of our lives... I've never had to hug anyone more in my life."
Though the audience was stunned when tabloid sensation Amy Winehouse actually turned up to perform "Love Is A Losing Game," who along with Bat for Lashes and Jamie T were the bookies' favourites, the London noisemakers defied the odds to take the £20,000 prize.
