King Khan & the Shrines will return on September 3 with Idle No More for Merge Records, and they have shared a clip from the collection with "Darkness."
The track mixes "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"-style electric guitar arpeggios with jazzy accompaniment including rich horns, while Khan offers up soulful falsetto vocals. The accompanying clip is a bit of a strange one, as we see a strongman and a human cannonball doing their act in the circus before the latter performer crosses paths with some sort of a shaman.
