Vancouver's Kimmortal is back with a new song called "I Can't Trust You." The soul-baring track also arrives alongside a new music video, which you can watch below.
The ballad finds the West Coast MC reflecting on the ways we hold on to relationships out of obligation even after trust is gone. It was produced by Elisa Pangsaeng (Yukon Blond, Kinnie Starr, Said the Whale), and its visuals are Kimmortal's own work.
"I wanted to work with Elisa Pangsaeng and showed her about 10 of my songs," they said of the collaboration. "'I Can't Trust You' was a recording on my phone, and the last one I played for her, but I wasn't originally going to share it. She really stayed true to my voice and message, and I love where we brought it."
Earlier this year, Kimmortal earned a shout-out from US representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for their track "Sad Femme Club," after which they released 2022 single "K I'm Mortal."
