Deep house legend and New Jersey native Kerri Chandler’s latest mix is a beautiful collection of underground dance music. Although the vibe of this mix is relaxed, warm and easy, it doesn’t take away from the infectious energy infused into each track. Chandler’s skills as a programmer come to the forefront as the listener is guided through an array of both modern tracks and a couple of classics that fit and flow unbelievably well together, creating a seamless, hypnotic mix with a very elegant, classy feeling. The highlight of this selection is Ron Hall and the Motherfunkers’ "The Way You Love Me,” with vocals by Marc Evans. This epic, feel good house track with an R&B-influenced sound has a way of putting a smile on people’s faces. Johnick Meets FTL’s "A Breath of Fresh Air” is just that, a wide open, funky instrumental with a crystal clear flute solo that takes dancers to new heights. My favourite track is Jon Cutler and Matthias Heilbronn’s "640.” Reminiscent of Aril Brikha’s "Groove La Chord,” "640” is a minimal, groovy tech-house number that gets a little darker than the other tracks, making it stand apart.
