Karen O says that new Yeah Yeah Yeahs material could be on the way soon.
In conversation with Australia's Double J, the artist spoke about the band's extended hiatus and how she's ready to hit the recording studio
"All I can say is that I feel ready to make some music," she told the station. "That's pretty much all I could say to that."
While she's not ready to commit to anything solid yet, the frontwoman remains optimistic that recording new material with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs feels like a real possibility.
"It feels like time to have something new out there," she continued. "But that's yet to happen, so we'll see how this year goes."
Yeah Yeah Yeahs' latest album was 2013's Mosquito. Should they release a new record, it would mark their fifth full-length record in their 17-year-long career as a band.
On the flip side, Karen O has remained relatively more active, releasing a new album titled Lux Prima with Danger Mouse less than a year ago. Her debut solo record Crush Songs arrived back in 2014.
