Kanye West's Donda 2 livestream took place last night, and oh boy it was mess. With striking visuals, disastrously bad audio, and off-putting guests (notably Marilyn Manson and DaBaby), it went about as well as you'd expect for a guy who spent the lead-up to the event bullying his estranged wife's (rumoured) new boyfriend.
With all of the drama and production hiccups, the music itself didn't make much of an impression. But at least one lyric really stood out: in the song "Sci-Fi," Ye rapped, "When you lay down and I give you the semen / I swear I heard God, the voice of Morgan Freeman."
Notably, "Sci-Fi" features Toronto rapper Sean Leon (who also appeared on Donda). The song directly addresses Ye's split from wife Kim Kardashian, and even includes a sample of Kardashian calling Ye "the best rapper of all-time" and "a talented, legit genius" (from her SNL monologue).
The Donda 2 livestream ended up going totally off the rails, with Kanye throwing his mic onto the ground (which was covered in a couple inches of water) in frustration, and guest Fivio Foreign rapping completely out of sync with the backing track.
Predictably, Donda 2 didn't officially come out. When it does, it will only be available on the pricey Stem Player.
