Justice's Gaspard Augé Announces Debut Solo Album 'Escapades'

Gaspard Augé — best known as one half of Justice — is releasing a solo album. His debut is called Escapades, and it will arrive on June 25 via Genesis/Ed Banger Records/Because Music.

Following the recent single "Force Majeure," we've now got another new track called "Hey!" You can check it out below.

Escapades found Augé working with French composer Victor le Masne, who has previously done stuff with Chilly Gonzales and Joseph Mount of Metronomy. The pair recorded the album at two studios in Paris, and the goal was to craft an album that "reimagines European classical music for the 21st century."

In a statement, Augé added, "I've always been obsessed with making larger than life music. Mostly because it's more fun."

As for "Hey!," the track comes alongside a brief video by Filip Nilsson that features a lot of horsey action.

"This is the first thing that came to my mind while recording the track," said Augé, "a Mongolian horse rider playing the violin in the steppe, an epic ride with a far east feel. Filip Nilsson and the amazing rider Metin Yılmaz made that dream come true."

Check out the video and the full version of "Hey!" below.

Justice's most recent studio album was 2016's Woman, which was followed by the 2018 live effort Woman Worldwide. The duo also recently made headlines for hitting Justin Bieber with a cease and desist over a cross.
