JUNO Awards Give Pre-Broadcast Prizes to Alvvays, the Sadies, the Weeknd

Kaytranada, Alexisonfire, Arkells, Savannah Ré and more have won JUNOS

The 2023 JUNO Awards are tomorrow (March 13), but most of the prizes were actually handed out last night (March 11) at the 2023 Opening Night Awards. Among the artists who took home prizes were the Sadies, Alvvays, the Weeknd, Kaytranada and Alexisonfire.

Alexisonfire earned Rock Album of the Year for Otherness, while Alternative Album of the Year went to Alvvays for Blue Rev. Kaytranada earned Rap Single of the Year with his Anderson .Paak team-up "Twin Flame," and the Sadies took home Adult Alternative Album of the Year for Colder Streams.

The big winner so far is the Weeknd, who earned Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Pop Album of the Year (Dawn FM) and single of the year ("Sacrifice").

Other winners so far include Arkells (Group of the Year), Teen Daze (Electronic Album of the Year for Interior), Savannah Ré (Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for "Last One"), Esmerine (Instrumental Album of the Year for Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More) and Les Louanges (Francophone Album of the Year for Crash). Harry Styles, having annoyed everyone at the Grammys, won International Album of the Year for Harry's House.
