Fresh off of multiple new Grammy nominations for World Music Radio and beyond, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert bandleader Jon Batiste has announced his first-ever headlining for 2024. The North American trek set to take place early next year will include a pair of Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal.
"I'm into numbers, so: 20 theatres and 24 performances to bless the pivotal year 2024," Batiste told the Associated Press in a statement. "For my first solo run I wanted to play in smaller venues and curate experiences that let me really feel the people while I play. Think of these 24 shows less as a tour and more as a series of 24 not to be missed experiences, each being one-of-a-kind. We are designing these performances to be catalysts to bring people together, raise awareness for things I care about and inspire change in this country, and the world."
The Uneasy Tour: Purifying the Airwaves for the People begins on February 16 in Portland. The singer-songwriter will come to Canada just beyond the stint's midway point, performing at Toronto's Massey Hall on March 12 and Montreal's MTELUS on March 13, then proceeding to complete the remaining shows stateside. The last concert is currently slated for March 22 in Charlotte, NC.
