Legendary indie rock group the Jesus and Mary Chain have spent the last few years on tour, but they've always hinted that they'll follow that with a new studio album. Further proving their unstoppable Scottish work ethic, the group have now offered an update from the studio.
Speaking with Time Out New York [via Consequence of Sound], the band's Jim Reid said, "We're doing an album now. We actually just started recording."
Though details are scarce, he added, "It's early days, but I would say it's a more mature sound for the Mary Chain. But let's just wait and see."
Stay tuned for more information on the new album (which would follow the band's 1998 effort Munki) as it becomes available.
