Back in 2019, Jeff Rosenstock and Laura Stevenson released Still Young, a Neil Young covers EP, and today, they've surprise released another batch of Young tracks in Younger Still via Polyvinyl Recording.
Where the last EP included Young's "Harvest Moon," "After the Gold Rush," "Ambulance Blues" and "Through My Sails," this latest release further honours the Canadian legend with covers of "Comes a Time," "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere," "Razor Love" and "Hey Babe."
"We have done something that we hope Neil Young doesn't hate. Because we love him," said Stevenson. "We covered some of his songs again. He didn't say he was mad the first time. We just love him, okay? So we did it again, OKAY? WHAT'S WITH THE THIRD DEGREE?"
Rosenstock added:
We had such a nice lil' time making the last EP Still Young, so we immediately dove into another! We recorded two songs before I moved across the country with a plan to record two more the next time I was back in town. Joke was on us though LULZ — a global pandemic happened, those two songs never got finished and Laura and I didn't see each other for almost two years!
Now with a little more wiggle room for travel, the pair are due to head out on a co-headlining tour of North America in the coming weeks, with a lone stop in Canada taking place at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern (with support from Gladie) on December 11. Rosenstock will head out on a solo run in the new year.
