The music business is tough: many bands put in countless hours on the road and in the studio, racking up debt and never getting the success or credit they deserve. Of course, none of that applies if you're Will Smith's daughter. In the case of nine-year-old Willow Smith, she released a song called "Whip My Hair" and promptly got signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.

You can listen to the song in the video embedded below. It's catchy enough, and we can definitely imagine it becoming a ubiquitous R&B radio hit, especially now that Jay-Z is behind it. In a statement, the label said, "It's rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career."

This news comes just days after "Whip My Hair" first emerged online. The track also caught the attention of Solange Knowles, who tweeted, "WIllow Smith make me wanna whip some haiiirrr in this house. Ummm kill em girl. Kill em!"

Aspiring musicians, take note: if you want your band to get noticed, all you need to do is be the child of a Hollywood superstar.
