Originally scheduled for release in May, it will now arrive in September due to the coronavirus

Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker's new band JARV IS… recently detailed their debut album Beyond the Pale, but they've now made the decision to postpone its release due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The album was initially set to arrive on May 1, but has now been pushed back to September 4 via Rough Trade.

The band was also slated to tour the U.K. this spring, but have rescheduled all live shows until November.

"It's a drag to have to make these changes but we're sure you understand why they're necessary," the band said in a statement. "We are looking into ways of doing some kind of 'virtual performances' in the interim. We miss you!"

They also recommended keeping fit by dancing to their latest single "House Music All Night Long," but acknowledged the darkly prophetic nature of the song's lyrics.

"You can keep fit whilst cooped-up indoors by dancing to 'House Music All Night Long,'" they said. "Suddenly lines such as 'Saturday Night Cabin Fever in House Nation' and 'Goddamn this claustrophobia!' have taken on a new meaning — but a domestic disco really is quite a pleasant method of passing the time. Shall we?"
