Last year, British comedian/shit-disturber Russell Brand played the hedonistic, sex-crazed lead singer of iconic rock band Infant Sorrow in the hit comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This year, Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller and producer Judd Apatow are reuniting with Brand to bring us a spinoff of the love story based on Brand's character: Aldous Snow. The movie, titled Get Him to the Greek, features Brand as the untamed rock god about to open a $100 million tour at Los Angeles's Greek Theatre.
On top of the rumoured star-studded cast, which includes the likes of Christina Aguilera, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and Metallica's Lars Ulrich, Britpop iconoclast and former Pulp front-man Jarvis Cocker is said to be writing three songs for the film, which will be performed by Brand's character.
In an interview with Billboard, Cocker confessed the songs to be "rather silly but it's a silly film."
When asked whether or not there was a possibility of a Pulp reunion, Cocker remained undecided, saying: "I better decide for sure pretty soon, because otherwise I'll be too old."
Get Him to the Greek, which also stars Jonah Hill and Rose Byrne, is expected to be out in 2010.
