Japandroids Tease New Album's Release

Anthemic Vancouver indie rock duo Japandroids haven't released any new material since the "Heavenward Grand Prix" single back in late 2010, but the troupe are apparently just about to drop the deets on their proper follow-up to their much-loved debut LP, Post-Nothing.

A Facebook post from guitarist/vocalist Brian King explains that the twosome are nearly done putting together their next full-length, and that it can be expected to arrive sometime in the near future.

"HEY GANG // BRIAN HERE (AGAIN)," the all-caps announcement reads. "I FORGOT TO MENTION WE'VE FINALLY RECORDED ENOUGH SONGS FOR A NEW RECORD // I'M LITERALLY FINISHING OFF THE ARTWORK FOR IT RIGHT NOW // DETAILS SOON."

The group have had a handful of new numbers at their disposal since last summer, with "Fire's Highway," "Adrenaline Nightshift" and "Evil's Sway" making their way into the group's set list on their last tour. But without an album title, tracklisting or release date to work with, it's unclear whether these songs made the final cut. As the six-stringer suggested, "details soon."
