The Toronto date of James Vincent McMorrow's
North American spring tour fell the day after April
Fools', but the Exclaim! TV performance of "Gold" he blessed us with at
the office is far from a stale joke.
The Irish singer was touring in support of Post Tropical, which he likened to "the R&B records" that he loves. And on his Exclaim! TV performance, his falsetto voice is supported by serene acoustic strumming and atmospheric oboe playing, which occasionally takes the foreground with a tasteful lead.
His performances at Edmonton Folk Music Festival and Squamish Valley Music Festival, August 8 and 9, respectively, are his only Canadian dates currently scheduled. To get your McMorrow fix now, cash in your "Gold" below.
