There are many great unknowns in our universe, but there are no questions of more pressing importance than the state of Blink-182.
While you may know him more as the bandleader of Alkaline Trio, guitarist Matt Skiba joined Blink's lineup in 2015, taking over for rogue alien hunter Tom DeLonge. Skiba contributed to the band's two most recent studio albums, 2019's NINE and 2016's California, but was absent from 2020 single "Quarantine" despite appearing in its music video. As for his future with the band... he's not sure, either.
In an Instagram post over the weekend, the musician shared some snaps from his visit to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Unprompted, a user named @blinkinpark89 commented: "You guys think he is still in Blink? No Blink content here and the Blink guys dont [sic] Post pictures mit [sic] matt [sic]."
"Your guess is as good as mine," Skiba commented back, adding: "Regardless, I'm very proud of and thankful for my time with @blink182. We shall see..."
Last year, DeLonge expressed being down for a possible reunion of the pop-punk institution's original lineup — consisting of himself, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker — in an interview. A newly cancer-free Hoppus added in another interview a couple weeks later that he was "open to anything."
We'll just have to wait and see what materializes, and find out whether Skiba will be taking off his pants and jacket.
