Insane Clown Posse have issued a statement to the Juggalos of the world, confirming Violent J is in hospital due to health complications, but that doctors expect he will be released very soon.

In a message posted to the duo's social profiles, they explained that J has been under the care of doctors for a few weeks after coming down with pneumonia.

"We just wanted to briefly address some rumours you might have heard recently regarding our big homie Violent J," they wrote. "A few weeks ago The Duke was experiencing shortness of breath and went to the emergency room expecting there was an issue with his AFib [atrial fibrillation]. The good news is his heart is perfectly fine and healthy. The bad news is, Violent J had pneumonia."

Due to J's ongoing health concerns, ICP have also announced that they will have to postpone the release of their forthcoming Pug Ugly the Stink Bug EP, which was slated to drop sometime in August.

"Have no fear, he's currently doing really well, and his doctors said he should be able to go home in the next two to three days," the band added. "He's feeling better and better with each passing day and right now just soaking in all the much-needed rest and relaxation while enjoying the company of his family."

With a bit of humour in their hearts, they continued: "Sometimes it just takes a little pneumonia to remind you to slow down and enjoy the little things."

Last summer, Insane Clown Posse announced their farewell from touring in light of Violent J's heart disorder. They promised they would still perform one-off shows, including at their own Gathering of the Juggalos festival, and continued to assure fans that "making music is not affected in any way, shape or form by anything going on with [them]."
