NYC-bred, Pennsylvania-based death metal pioneers Incantation have followed up their latest release, Vanquish in Vengeance, with an LP reissue of their classic 1998 album, Diabolical Conquest. The band's third studio album, Diabolical Conquest is arguably Incantation's best release and a definite must-have for any death metal enthusiast. It's a monumental release that helped shape the genre that spawned from the NYC scene, alongside Suffocation's Pierced From Within and Malignancy's Intrauterine Cannibalism. Diabolical Conquest is a unique record, being the only Incantation release feature the Chasm's Daniel Corchado performing vocals and bass. This release showcases Incantation at their finest, displaying founder/guitarist/present vocalist John McEntee's fierce, lightning-fast shredding and crushing riffs. While Incantation have always been able to maintain their ominous, demonic atmosphere, it's never been felt more prominently than on this aptly titled offering, with Corchado's vocals exuding a particularly intense, unholy darkness.
