With their love of Rush well-established, Crown Lands have now set their sights on another group of rock legends in the Beatles, cutting a new cover of the fab four's "Come Together."
The Ontario duo's reinterpretation of the Abbey Road opener was recorded in partnership with TSN as an anthem for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, kicking off in Qatar this November.
For the first time since 1986, the Canadian Men's National Team has qualified for the tournament, and Crown Lands' version of "Come Together" will be heard across TSN platforms, including national broadcasts, leading up to and throughout the World Cup.
In a statement, Crown Lands shared of their cover, "There is no disputing the magic that the Beatles created together and it's nice for us to have 'Come Together' to add our little twist to it. In other words, we cranked the vocals up an octave, added a metric-ton of Leslie guitars and threw in some fat Taurus synth bass bombs into an already great song."
This month, Crown Lands are touring the US alongside Greta Van Fleet, ahead of joining July Talk on a cross-Canada tour beginning next March.
In September, Crown Lands helped Exclaim! celebrate the 45th anniversary of Rush's A Farewell to Kings.
