Barbecue hero Dave Grohl wasn't always a star member of bands like Foo Fighters and Nirvana. In fact, before those bands (and even before he was in Scream), he was part of a group called Mission Impossible. Now, a song from his days in Mission Impossible has surfaced.

"Now I'm Alone" appears on the long-awaited soundtrack for Scott Crawford's 2015 documentary Salad Days: A Decade of Punk, which details the DC punk scene in the 1980s.

"Mission Impossible were a phenomenal, albeit short-lived, live band," Crawford told Rolling Stone. "I went to several of their practices in Virginia and just sat back and watch them go nuts. They were all superb musicians and watching Dave behind the drum kit was always a thrill."

The track was recorded in 1985 and marks one of Grohl's earliest recordings. Stream "Now I'm Alone" below.

The full soundtrack compilation is due out December 10, and it's available for pre-order here.
