Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Mustafa, Nelly Furtado, the Beaches, Mac DeMarco

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Jul 12, 2024

My refrigerator broke yesterday, but I'm staying cool with the latest frosty summer jams from throughout the Canadian music world.

These breezy tunes, which unfortunately don't keep perishable food items from spoiling, include new singles from freshly announced albums from Mustafa and Jeremie Albino, plus comeback LPs from long-absent faves Nelly Furtado and Sunset Rubdown.

Meanwhile, it's album release day for Donovan Woods, while artists like the Beaches and Art d'Ecco have singles without an apparent LP attached. Upcoming LP compaigns continue for Joel Plaskett, Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Luna Li.

Meanwhile, Sleepy Tom is working with Cadence Weapon on his latest, and the spirit of collaboration is also carried by Orville Peck (working with Beck) and Mac DeMarco (reuniting with crooner Ryan Paris).

Hear all this and more in the latest instalment of The Eh! List, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken — all Canadian and proud of it!
