What do you get when you take the Ramones and fuse them together with our national pride and joy? You get the Hanson Brothers, the long-running offshoot of British Columbia's legendary punk band Nomeansno, who combine everything you love about punk rock and hockey to create their own brand of music known as "puck rock."
During their recent Punk Rauch Tour, the band stopped into Toronto for a show at Lee's Palace, where Exclaim! TV caught up with the punk rock playmakers to hear an off-the-cuff performance of My Game classic "Let's Go Out Tonight."
Keeping with the theme of their Slap Shot namesake, the band came adorned in hockey jerseys, with bassist Robbie Hanson (real name Rob Wright) wearing an old-school, Friday the 13th-esque goalie mask. The band blazed through their energized punk jam with singer Johnny Hanson (John Wright)'s vocals leading the charge over the onslaught of distorted power chords.
