Gwyneth Paltrow Ski Collision Trial Adapted into a Musical

'Gwyneth Goes Skiing' premieres in London's West End next month

It's officially a canon event: vagina candle-peddler and occasional actor Gwyneth Paltrow's infamous ski collision lawsuit is becoming a musical.

Earlier this year, Paltrow was found not responsible for a 2016 ski accident that left retired optometrist Terry Sanderson with four broken ribs, a concussion and permanent brain damage after an eight-day court case. In the civil suit, Sanderson alleged that the Goop guru was at fault for him crashing into her from behind on the slopes at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, UT.

Paltrow's victory saw her awarded a symbolic $1 USD plus legal fees, as well as the honour of the trial becoming meme-ified into oblivion. Now, Awkward Productions has turned those memes into theatre, with Gwyneth Goes Skiing set to premiere at the Pleasance in London's West End on December 13.

Starring Linus Karp and Joseph Martin, the production features original music by frequent Troye Sivan collaborator Leland.

A synopsis of the "story of love, betrayal, skiing and (somehow) Christmas" reads:

She's the Goop-founding, Shakespeare-in-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar. He's a retired Optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing.

On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided and so did they — literally. Ouch. In 2023, they went to court. Double ouch.
