Grand Magus

Hey, it's three guys with long beards playin' rock and roll. Must be ZZ Top. Wrong. It's Swedish doom metallers Grand Magus. These beardos specialise in bluesy, groove-oriented, Sabbath-influenced rock that has a touch of early Soundgarden goin' on. They've got some great song titles, as "Gauntlet," "Black Hound Of Vengeance" and "Mountain of Power" all demonstrate. As for the songs themselves, they never really break a trotting speed, but I guess it's hard to be this heavy at high velocities. This is a good bet if you like really slow heavy metal.
