Legendary singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot has announced the cancellation of his 2023 concert itinerary due to "health-related issues," according to a statement from his spokesperson [via CTV News].
"Gordon Lightfoot announces the cancellation of his US and Canadian concert schedule for 2023," the statement read, referring to a number of scheduled dates stateside from April through September and a single Canadian show in Kitchener, ON, slated for October.
It continued, "The singer is currently experiencing some health-related issues and is unable to confirm rescheduled dates at this time. We thank you for respecting his privacy as he continues to focus on his recovery."
Lightfoot previously postponed his 2021 tour dates to recover from a fall that led to a fractured wrist, for which he underwent surgery. He was the first artist to perform at the reopening of Toronto's newly revitalized Massey Hall — his 170th performance at the historic venue — that November and was awarded the key to the city.
