Gallows, the UK hardcore band that features former Alexisonfire guitarist Wade MacNeil as its vocalist, will release their third album Desolation Sounds next week. But before it arrives, they've given Exclaim! an exclusive stream of the LP.
Desolation Sounds is named after "an expanse of water" from MacNeil's home and native land. Once again, it sees the group shucking subgenre-specific trends in favour of music that's loud, raw and urgent.
"I think the album sounds really fearless.... It's the sound of a band that's comfortable with playing music together, rather than trying to fit into a certain scene or zeitgeist or any preconceived notion of what the band should be," the group's Laurent "Lags" Barnard said in a press release. "We just ignored the outside music world and made an album that felt good in our guts."
Desolation Sounds can be streamed in full below if you're in Canada. The album arrives on April 14 via Venn Records/Universal Music Canada.
