In October, Fugees postponed their highly anticipated 25th anniversary reunion tour to 2022, but due to the present surge of COVID-19 cases, the group have now cancelled the run entirely.
In a statement shared today, the trio of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel write, "We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen. The continued COVID pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe."
The day after Fugees announced reunion plans to celebrate 25 years of acclaimed sophomore LP The Score in September, the group performed at Manhattan's Pier 17. The next reunion show was set to take place in Chicago on November 2.
While no Canadian dates were included on the initial tour route, Fugees shared that they would be adding more cities and dates in announcing the postponement to 2022. Now, it remains unclear when the trio will be back on the road.
"We're grateful for the special night we did get to share with some of you in New York, with that rare live moment. If opportunity, public safety and scheduling allow, we hope to be able to revisit this again sometime soon," the trio conclude. "THANK YOU for all your love and support throughout the years."
