Fucked Up Ready New EP 'Oberon,' Share New Song "Strix"

Fucked Up have shared details of a new EP. The Toronto punks will deliver new effort Oberon on October 7 via Tankcrimes.

The four-track Oberon takes its name from a king of fairies depicted in medieval and Renaissance literature, who is also a character in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream.

The illustration of the fairy king on the EP's cover art, seen above, comes via Andrei Bouzikov, who has also illustrated cover artwork for bands including Municipal Waste, Skeletonwitch and High on Fire.

"Strix" is the first song to arrive from the EP, and you can engage with its eeriness in the player below. The tracklist also includes songs titled "Mashhit" and "The Aquarium (Saint-Saens)," which we're pleased to report is a cover of the French composer's piece that the label calls "absolutely despicable."

Earlier this month, Fucked Up played Toronto's Great Hall in celebration of 10 years of David Comes to Life. In September, they'll play Winnipeg's SOS Punk Rock Music Festival.

Oberon is now available for pre-order in digital and physical editions.
