Frank Ocean and Travis Scott Are Beefing over 'Astroworld'

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 14, 2018

Travis Scott continues to ride a wave of hype from his wildly successful Astroworld album, which has received praise from everyone. Well, almost everyone β€” Frank Ocean is apparently pissed about his appearance on "Carousel" and wants to have his vocals removed from the release.

UPDATE (9/14, 7:01 p.m.): Ocean has responded to the reports with a statement published through tumblr. He writes, "I THINK THE SONG SOUNDS COOL, I DID IT IN LIKE 20 MINUTES AND THE MIX SOUNDS THE WAY TRAVIS WANTED IT TO SOUND FOR HIS RECORD. I ALSO APPROVED IT BEFORE IT CAME OUT SO THE CEASE AND DESIST WASN'T ABOUT πŸ”Š IT WAS ABOUT πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ. ME AND TRAVIS RESOLVED IT AMONGST OURSELVES WEEKS AGO. πŸ’–"

Sources close to the situation have revealed to TMZ that Ocean is pissed about the way his vocals were processed on the song. It's most likely that he's not pleased with the AutoTune and pitch-shifting that were applied to his vocals on the track.

Apparently Ocean has asked Scott's camp to remove his vocals from the track but hasn't been appeased. As a result, he's reportedly about to serve Scott with a cease and desist.
