Even the famously technology-averse Jack White has a smart phone these days, but there are still a few holdouts. This includes Red Hot Chili Peppers bass wizard Flea, who has complained that it's difficult for him to attend Los Angeles Rams games because he doesn't own a smartphone.
On X (formerly Twitter), Flea posted (formerly tweeted) that SoFi Stadium, where the NFL team plays, doesn't allow for printed-out tickets or parking passes. Without a wristband system, he can't get back to his seat after using the bathroom. He ended the post (tweet) by writing, "i hate smartphones."
Despite his lack of a smartphone, Flea is quite active on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, so apparently he's using the in-browser versions of those social media services.
Perhaps Flea could form a club with fellow holdouts like Michael Cera and Neil Young, who both use flip phones. Of course, it would be very difficult for them to message one another or organize a meet-up, since they don't have smartphones.
