The father of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, a 23-year-old who died after a Taylor Swift concert in Brazil, is calling for the promoters of the show to be investigated.

Benevides died of cardiac arrest on Friday (November 17), after temperatures in Rio De Janeiro reached nearly 50 C. She fainted before the show even began, according to her cousin, and now, her father Weiny Machado is looking for answers.

"She left home to fulfill a dream and came back dead," Machado told Brazilian newspaper Folha de S Paulo [translation via The Independent]. He is now asking for show organizers T4F to confirm whether fans were prohibited from bringing water bottles into the venue during a heat wave.

"I want it to be found out whether they were, in fact, prohibited from bringing water, whether there was negligence in providing assistance," he said.

He later added: "Nothing will bring my daughter back. But I hope that, if negligence is confirmed, someone will be punished so that this doesn't happen to anyone else."

Videos show Swift asking Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos staff to give water to the crowd as the humidex rose to 60 C within the venue. She postponed her show that was meant to happen the next day (November 18) to November 19 due to the heat wave.

The singer shared a heartfelt tribute to Benevides on social media, writing, "It is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this."
