Former Misfits singer Michale Graves may serve as a witness for the defence of accused Capitol rioters.
According to Reuters, the musician was in Washington, D.C., for a scheduled Proud Boys-endorsed private concert on January 6, the day of the violent insurrection that left five people dead. The concert never took place, but Graves has confirmed that he travelled to Washington to perform at a rally organized by "Latinos for Trump."
Defence lawyers representing prominent Proud Boy member Ethan "Rufio" Nordean are attempting to disprove charges of conspiracy and notions that the alt-right group planned to "topple the government" on January 6, using evidence that they had planned to attend Graves' "carefree music party" during the attacks.
"These guys have a hard time getting an order together for McDonald's," Graves said in defence of the accused in an interview.
Graves also said he and his manager "ghosted" the rally when the violence began at the Capitol.
