Eric Clapton Looks Back with 'Forever Man' Comp

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 18, 2015

Last year, rock legend Eric Clapton hinted at his retirement from touring, telling Uncut that "the road has become unbearable." Still even impending retirement can't stop him from declaring himself Forever Man, since that's the name of his latest best-of compilation. The three-disc set will be released on April 28 ·(in time for Father's Day, we should point out) through Warner.

This isn't just another collection of hits. The first CD consists of the usual studio material, although many of his best-known hits appear on the second disc, which is labelled Live. The third disc, meanwhile, is labelled Blues. There are 51 songs all told.

For those who don't want to splurge for the triple-disc set, there's also a double-CD configuration. A double vinyl set will follow on June 23. See the various tracklists below.

Forever Man takes its name from Clapton's 1985 hit of the same name, which appeared on his album Behind the Sun.

Meanwhile, Clapton is playing a few shows this spring. Scroll past the tracklist to see his dates in New York and London.
