Heralded by VICE as "Canada's weirdest experimental music festival," Electric Eclectics Festival of Experimental Music and Sound Art is back for 2022.
After two painfully un-electrifying summers, the fest is staging its comeback with not one, but two events: a one-day show on June 18 in Collingwood, ON, and its classic weekend of camping and concerts from July 29 to 30 in Meaford, ON.
The single-day affair takes place at Black Bellows Brewery's outdoor beer garden from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., where the festival will host headliners DEBBY FRIDAY, ZONES and Lee Paradise, alongside Osound, Phantom Limbs and Andy Elliott. The brewery also features permanent art installations by EE co-host Laura Kikauka.
In July, Electric Eclectics returns to its longstanding roots at the Funny Farm, overlooking the scenic Big Head Valley. This year's headliners include Edwin van der Heide with his acclaimed Laser Sound Performance — which uses sound to build visual kinetic architecture that intersects with the audience's spatial auditory experience — as well as Laura Ortman, Shelley Hirsch, Alexis O'Hara and DJ Tacostan.
The weekend will see additional performances from Jorgen Teller, Lary 7, shn shn, NPNP, Osound, PLEASE, Night Danger, Bill Coleman and Garrett Gilbart, Thresher, Bring Your Own Vinyl, Paul Dutton, Beast, and Joshua Richardson and group.
Discounted tickets for the Collingwood and Meaford are on sale now via the EE website. All weekend festival tickets include free camping.
