Having won the prestigious Mercury Prize for their 2008 set The Seldom Seen Kid, which Exclaim! described as a "wonderfully cohesive, mature and lush album," moody UK rockers Elbow had some lofty expectations lobbed on them for their follow-up, Build a Rocket Boys! Now that the album's out, the troupe are more than ready to prove their new tunes have legs, too, as they have announced a North American tour to promote the disc.
While the band will be hitting up the European festival circuit all summer long, Elbow will cross over to this side of the pond for a handful of club dates starting in September. The eight-gig trip kicks off in Austin on September 18 and wraps up in Los Angeles on October 1. Along the way they will play one Canadian date at Toronto's Sound Academy (September 28). Check out the North American tour schedule below.
Tour dates:
9/18 Austin, TX - Zilker Park, Austin City Limits
9/20 Atlanta, GA - Center Stage
9/22 Washington, DC - 9:30 Club
9/23 Philadelphia, PA - FDR Park
9/25 New York , NY - Terminal 5
9/26 Boston, MA - Paradise Rock Club
