Duchess Says

If there were an award for most intense physical performance, Duchess Says front-woman A-Claude destroyed all other competition, channelling the spirit of Karen O mixed in a blender with Mitsou. Afterwards, all English-speaking boys in the venue wished they were bilingual, as Claude growled, spit, clawed, and crowd jumped her way through the Montreal quartet’s Noviciat Mere-Perruche EP. Duchess Says let everyone know that equal parts new wave, punk, and electro-pop, along with a keytar whirling singer, make for pure pop fun.
